Advanced Arts - Sword and Buckler

Similar to the advanced longsword classes, this course focuses on the study and practice of historical manuscripts and treatises on the use of sword and buckler. As one of the oldest systems in the historical manuscripts, the use of sword and buckler has a rich tradition stretching across the Middle Ages. Used as both a system for personal defense and warfare, the sword and buckler system offers a unique view on the sciences of defense from multiple cultures across the 13th to 16th centuries.

We recommend students start off with the Beginner Longsword class before moving on to any of the Advanced Arts course as it helps lay out the foundational elements used in other weapon systems
